How Can Physicians Impress During a Career Fair?

by Josh Frank on 10/19/15 9:06 AM

On Thursday October 8th NEG attended the CareerMD fair in NYC! Here are a few tips that can help any physician stand out at a medical career fair.

1. Have your CV ready

Bringing your CV with you to a job fair gets you one step closer to employment.  The recruiter will be able to evaluate your experience and see if it's a good fit for their openings. This will allow you to skip the first steps of the application process!

2. Go in with a plan

Have an idea for what you are looking for in an employer before attending the fair. Are you looking for inpatient or outpatient work? Do they have moonlighting opportunities? Will you need visa sponsorship? Research each company that sparks your interest prior to the career fair. This way you can be sure to stop by their table and make a great first impression.

3. Let your personality shine

Career fairs are a great way to get employers to know you. While technical skill is very important, recruiters love getting to know the face behind the CV. Fairs are also a great way to learn about the corporate culture of a company.
