New England Geriatrics announced today that Jo-Anne Gaughan-Cabral, MSW, LICSW, has accepted the position of Regional Program Director. Ms. Gaughan-Cabral will be responsible for oversight of the company’s inpatient geriatric psychiatry program which has multiple hospital affiliations throughout Massachusetts. She will work closely with each Medical Director, Program Director, as well as hospital President and other administrators to ensure that the elders on these units are receiving exceptional psychiatric treatment.

Jo-Anne Gaughan-Cabral brings 25 years of social work experience to this position, 18 of those years working as a psychotherapist providing treatment to nursing home residents with New England Geriatrics. Prior to her work with NEG, she was the Director of the Dual Diagnosis Program at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT, and a social worker at Providence Hospital in Holyoke, MA. Gaughan-Cabral received her BSW from Elms College and her MSW from the University of Connecticut. She is married, has two sons, one of whom is in college.
