West Central Family and Counseling(WCFC) has launched a new interdisciplinary substance use disorder counseling program.
WCFC’s OSUD Program was licensed by the Bureau of Substance Addiction Services in 2017. This program will provide services to populations affected by Substance Use Disorder, with specialized services for dual diagnosis clients.
Statistics show that there is a growing need for programs that integrate mental health services with addiction therapy. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, almost 43% of people who have a psychiatric diagnosis like borderline personality disorder, generalized anxiety, panic disorder or schizophrenia also have an addictive disorder.
West Central Family and Counseling’s program will offer mental health treatment to anyone coping with the negative consequences of a substance use disorder. Their trained clinicians provide evidence-based treatment such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and a community reinforcement approach.
“Our clinicians use individualized interventions and harm reduction strategies to build on strengths and motivate our clients to begin and maintain the recovery process,” said Clinic Director of WCFC Simona Pozzetto. The program will work with a wide variety of populations throughout Western Massachusetts.
Referrals for the OSUD Program are now being accepted. To make a referral please visit www.westcentralfamily.com or call 413-276-4955.
