This serious mental illness becomes crippling at times without proper treatment or the skills to manage it.  Learning techniques to ease anxiety down before it gets to the point it consumes you is essential for keeping it from controlling your every day life. Warm baths or showers with stress relieving bath products in the scents of lavender, rosemary, peppermint, geranium and lemon are effective. 

Sipping on calming teas of lemon balm, chamomile, mint, lavender and honey, passionflower and valerian root also helps. This is because these herbs have natural sedative and mood boosting properties.

Going for walks or simply sitting in fresh air with Mother Nature surrounding you brings forth healing and calmness when anxiety strikes. Maybe even consider doing your favorite activity such as word searches, swimming, watching a favorite TV show, snacking on your favorite food, listening to music or whatever it is that makes you feel happy. 

Sometimes in severe cases of anxiety, it is wise to learn anxiety management techniques from mental health professionals that can help figure out the causes of the anxiety. Knowing the causes helps you learn the skills too properly manage the anxiety as soon as it starts. 

Other times all it takes to relieve anxiety from daily life are simple dietary and lifestyle changes. Maybe even consider talking to your doctor about changing out medications that could potentially be causing the disorder. 

Anxiety is a condition you do not have to suffer from and learning the techniques and skills to manage it can keep it from crippling your life.
